A little while ago, I went to Grounded Coffee Company with two friends, in the heart of East End. It’s nestled on the high street in Whitechapel/Aldgate East, hidden in plain sight. I’ve gone past this place so many times without ever really taking notice of it, but I used to see pictures of their food all over Insta and Twitter.

This is going to be a mini review with pictures sprinkled in!

I got the full English breakfast (yeah, I’m a HUGE fan of it all — eggs, sausages, beans, turkey bacon, toast, mushrooms? Count me in!) and I can’t remember what the girls got.

I also got a hot chocolate and my friend got a latte, as well as three tap waters (the glasses were seriously dirty, so two of us didn’t even drink the water. It was so off putting.)

While I enjoyed my food (since I was super hungry and it was like 12:30), I found the bread to be too hard to cut through with the knife and fork — at one point, I thought it was going to go flying across the café. The eggs were good but not as hot as I would have liked them to be, which made the yolk taste . . . not as great as it could have.

The sausages, on the other hand, were great and I loved them. They weren’t too oily, which is always a plus. The turkey bacon was TOO crispy, but still enjoyable! The hot chocolate was lukewarm and I’ve had better. The beans were GREAT, sweet and super yummy. But it doesn’t beat the beans from another super cute café I had an English breakfast at!

Overall I would probably rate Grounded Coffee Company 2.75 stars, because of the sausages and beans. Would I go there again? Definitely not. Do I recommend it? No. It is way too pricey for the quality of the food (£9.50 for a bread you nearly break your teeth on isn’t worth it at all + the eggs weren’t nice, like I mentioned. If anything, Coffee & Cream is so much better and cheaper — I’ll do a full review on their food soon!)

What are your favourite places for a full English breakfast? Are you a breakfast person? Have you been to Grounded Coffee Company? If so, let me know your thoughts!
