I’m so excited to announce the launch of my online media and news platform, Poised. It was a few months in the making, but something I’ve been pondering over for years. It had always been a dream of mine to create my own publication.
And now I have.
Creating a platform for womxn and the LGBT+ community, a safe space to express thoughts, feelings and opinions, was so important to me, for inclusion and diversity.
I know there are a ton of other amazing platforms already out there (like The Tempest, Women’s Republic, Brown Girl Mag, Burnt Roti & Clitbait), working to build up the voices of womxn with so much diversity, and this is just another one on the list of growing media.
But it’s like . . . we need to create as many platforms for people as possible, to take up as much space as we can, so we can reach out on a global scale and get our stories and voices heard.
POISED is a community built on starting conversations on everything important, destigmatising topics surrounding sexuality, womxnhood, culture, and so much more. POISED was started to create change and make an impact, to take up space and get everyone’s stories heard. This isn’t the first and it won’t be the last, but it’s a project close to my heart and I hope to build it up into something glorious. Making a difference, taking steps to change the world, is so important.
I know it’ll take time to grow and I can’t wait to see it flourish. This is just the start of a long journey, and I hope you’ll join me in this new adventure.
