Sumaiya Ahmed

A Muslim opinion and sex-positive writer, book reviewer and student, aiming to break down the boundaries of cultural stigma and shame attached to mental health and sexuality within the South Asian culture and bring marginalised topics to light.

Sumaiya has amassed a collaboration with BBC Asian Network’s Group Chat and written about Islamophobia and the hijab for the Metro. She is currently a Freelance Food & Drinks writer for The Breakdown.

 Sumaiya has previously written about sex in relation to both culture and religion, the questioning of faith and interracial relationships, amongst many other vital topics. Her focus is on opinion and feature writing, more specifically lifestyle, sex and relationships, entertainment, and reviews. Sumaiya has also published two poetry collections, Lost and Found and Reality.
